... roads and then a quick stop off resulted in Jon going missing! As the tour guide spoke no English we thought we were stopping off for a quick toilet break in some sort of tourist attraction resort. Jon got off the bus and I stayed with our belongings. Everyone else had gotten off. The bus then drove off with me on it and stopped no where near the drop off point. Poor Jon came from the toilets thinking where the heck was the bus.... and me! ... the following day (11th January). We had dinner in a local restaurant called, "Uncle", which was good. Noodles with onion, bean sprouts and brocolli for me, but a rather bland fried rice dish for Mr H, who is playing it safe in advance of our travel day tomorrow!

Feeling more positive about our trip to Xi'an, and will report more from there - hopefully in a cheerier state of mind!
