... re going to see the Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark - "currently the only twentieth-century blast furnace in the U.S. being preserved and interpreted as an historic industrial site." This is the coolest "abandoned factory" type exhibit I have ever seen.Most places like this are fenced off or very limited access for safety reasons but nearly the entire factory is accessible.
