... worse we head for haikou, to get the night bus to guilin. We do our best to wave down a taxi, the women in reception didn't understand when we asked her to call, but it doesn't work like that, a man nearby asks if we need a taxi. He takes us, but we have to pay up front, obviously very scared of the police. We're happy to be in in a cool car. Safely at the station, tickets bought we spend out 2 hours waiting in pizza hut. ... tables, giving a 'thumbs up' to rice and vegetables and 'thumbs down' to chicken feet, and squid.

No matter how many people waved the menu under our nose and shouted in Chinese we still didn't understand. Eventually, after K shook her arm horizontally while making a frying sound and repointing at the ingredients we finally got some veggie fried rice.

We were at the airport at Nanning for our early morning flight (0750) back to Shanghai. Everything went smoothly until I went through security, I must have a sign on my forehead saying pick me!
