In order to take the cheap flight with Flyscoot, we have to take off from Qingdao. Thanks to my Air China Star Alliance Membership, I can redeem the flight using my points and it only cost me RMB120 to fly from Beijing to Qingdao.

We arrived in Qingdao Airport at 10am, 5 hours left for the next flight to Singapore. So starving that 3 of us decided to take a taxi to a popular local restaurant for a early lunch! ...

Did you know that Qingdao was the Yachting venue for the Beijing Olympics? Either did I. But come here and you'll be left with NO doubt. The games certainly left a big mark as Coria explained - MEGA bucks were spent on the foreshore area, and everything was designed to then convert into other tourism uses later.
