... considering we haven't yet seen the sky for the smog! So we decided we will wait for another day and went to an area called 1912 which is a series of streets with restaurants, bars and clubs. It's a bit touristy but very nice and we went to a bar called Blue Marlin where we had lots of beer and some pizza. Not very Chinese-y but everyone had a great night with good chat. I have also stepped in and done some teaching in one of our schools in Nanjing. It is lovely to step back into the classroom sometimes as I do miss being with students.
Our students are fabulous on the whole. They are all from well off
families as they have to pay for their international education at our
centres (whereas it would be free in the main Chinese school). Our centres are all ...

... murals). We were mesmerized by a circular room with a moving picture of a Chinese town displayed on the entire wall (see photos). Every element of the picture had movement (eg people cooking in tiny kitchens, selling wares on streets, arguing with neighbors etc). As we watched, the day turned into night, and seasons changed. I have never seen anything like it! Caroline and I could have stood and watched for hours.

We finished our adventure with dinner ...
