Yesterday I commented about the dryness of the landscape…today it was even worse. All day we saw dried up farms and signs posted blaming various individuals and political parties for the crisis. Most of them blame Nancy Pelosi specifically, which I thought was strange…like she personally drove down to the valley and sucked up all the …
Got a five dollar all day pass on the Metro to have cheap and cheerful travel. We headed straight to the Walt Disney Concert Hall which was designed by Lynns' favourite Architect, Frank O'Gehry
The building was incredible and looked amazing in the sunshine. We went inside and the man told us that we had just missed the walking tour …
Checked out at 11am, headed to Starbucks, left a video birthday message for Mum :) then sorted first few nights accommodation in Fiji. Then we went to make the most of our annual passes at Universal! Hugh Jackman was being interviewed by Mario Lopez at the front . . . but we headed straight to the studio tour. It was super again, but this time we …
Where do I start? I am writing this from Fiji, lol as Alex has just popped out to get some more Fiji water. Universal was incredible! We had issues getting there at first as our Tap passes on the Metro didn't work, and we didn't have any small change on us (those machines only give a small amount of change and dispense in heavy coins).
Started our day with the fine cuisine of a Wendy's burger while we worked out and sorted out Laundry (had to be done). Then headed up to Hollywood Boulevard and walked along the main road, going North of where we were staying. At first it was quite out of the main part as we walked quite a few blocks, it became more and more built up. When we …

Super location, super value!
We stayed at this hotel for $75/night, which was one of the cheapest hotels within a 5 mile radius of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The first few miles on Vermont Ave. from the route 101 exit is pretty ghetto, but once you get to the hotel it is a little cleaner. I felt safe within the hotel's compound. The non-smoking room with king bed was clean and spacious. I was surprised with the quality of towels they had. You usually don't expect much from a 1-star motel, but it was actually pretty nice. The only thing I didn't like was the small parking lot. If you can't find a parking space, they have another parking lot next door. They didn't post any signs stating that they had another parking lot. I found out when I couldn't find parking and the front desk attendant told me about it. Other than that, I think this was a great value and I recommend it to anyone who wants to stay near the tourist attractions at half the price!
Comfortable, Clean, Convenient
A friend and I spent four nights at this motel last week. Very clean (and we're both fussy), beds and linens comfortable. The neighborhood is safe and convenient for getting around town. Many good restaurants in the area. We particularly enjoyed morning coffee at In The Grind, a cafe just a block away. Forget the coffee and pastries supplied by Travelodge; not worth the calories. But I didn't expect them to be, either.
For the money, this is an excellent choice. I'll be returning when next I'm in LA.
Just what you'd expect for that price
This is the perfect hotel for people who are watching their budget.
We , a young couple from Belgium, stayed there for four nights last summer.
The location is excellent, the metro is right around the corner and it's only two stops to Hollywood Boulevard and a couple of stops to down town LA. If you have a car it's very close to the highway and sunset boulevard.
The room was big enough, decent bathroom and we even had a fridge. Breakfast was basic with muffins and coffee and orange juice. Although we didn't have time to swim in it, the pool looked oké too. Off course this hotel is not deluxe, but you get what you pay for, so we would certainly recommend this.
This is what you expect of a Travelodge. Clean and comfortable rooms with complimentary continental breakfast which was basic. Free internet access via wireless. The rates were only just good value bearing in mind that it is in LA.
Perfect for the price you pay!
We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and found it a suitable place to see all the hotspots of LA! the metro was just around the corner and brings you to walk of fame and universal studios.
The rooms where big enough (you only sleep there!), nice beds, everything was clean and the staff was very helpfull.
The only negative thing i can say about this hotel is it's neighbourhood. Don't go down the road or along Sunset at night!
For budgettravelers this is a perfect stay!
Travelodge near Metro Red Line/universal Studio/Hollywood Walk of Fame
Called hotel dircetly because another hotel down the road could not find my reservations. The front desk took care of us immediately.Travelodge is right next to Metro Red Line Station therefore it was easy to go the Hollywood walk of fame ,Universal Studios,China town and downtown Los Angeles.
Rooms are small but quite well kept. The rooms had all the amenties like hair dryer, coffee makers, iron, ironing board, clock, fridge and microwave.Cable television with 3 HBO was quite pleasing. For the price paid, is was well worth it.($85.00 per night).
Continental breakfast consisted of muffins, danish.juices and coffee could be better but for a budget hotel I cannot complain.
Neat and clean rooms
The hotel is magnificent and we have never experienced such incredible service before. The rooms were very neat and clean and all the basic requirements were in the room. The staff was very friendly.
The pool is lovely, not very big but more neat. Our kids are 11 and 13 and they enjoyed it. We paid $99 per night for a room which we thought excellent value. There were 2 full size beds so the four of us shared.
Overall I would say this is probably the best hotel we have ever stayed in on holiday.
Rooms were small
We stayed here for 2 days and found the rooms to be terribly small. Floors/carpet were dirty and if you walk barefooted in the room , your feet will turn black !!
The front desk clerk was helpful when I had some problems with the laundry room door.B'fast was pathetic...they only had coffee and muffins...that's it
Enjoyed my stay
I stayed here for one night in Sept 2003. I came into town for a concert, so I spent little time in the room. I found the staff helpful, the room clean and the bed comfortable.
Nightmarish beyond belief!
We stumbled onto this Travelodge and had the worst experience. There are places that are so terrible it's not worth the low price and this motel is definitely one of them. The neigborhood is icky -- not IN the Los Feliz area. All the rooms face a very noisy/busy parking lot, we had our car blocked by a car parked illegally beind us and the staff was indifferent when we asked for assistance. We reserved a king bed (we called and confirmed again the day before) but were given a queen, and were told to pay $10 more if we wanted a king. The rooms were very small, not clean, had a foul smell and the sheets were threadbare with stains! The walls were so thin we could hear everything happening around us. The shower water was lukewarm. The breakfast consists of tiny 3-day old muffins. The worst was the front desk, very rude, just stared into space and ignored any requests (we asked for a fresh set of sheets), couldn't figure out if they did not understand English or did not want to. The clientele there were iffy. Don't ever stay at this motel!!
