Took the road less travelled for our first day. Headed west on the I-290 W or Dwight Eisenhower Expressway for a bit before it was the US20 W. When we could we were off onto the IL 72W which was a much smaller road with much less traffic that went through suburbs and small towns.

Bought supplies for lunch in Addison - spent a whole $2.60 to get bread rolls, ham and a tomato. Back to our lunch of travels past - ...

I am glad to be home, but miss France terribly already.

But as always, it's not good bye, just see you later.

Drove through rolling countrysides to the Wyalusing State campground on the confluence/bluff of the Wisconsin River and the Mississippi-unbelievable site. The bluff overlooks the city of Prairie Du Chien (sheen). The first white man (French) took ...

... Further down the land had been cleared and and large farms were plenty. I did not see any cows until almost the end of the day when I saw a large dairy farm with several barns full of cows. On the Wisconsin car license plate it says 'The Dairy State' .
The road I traveled on was a 55l mph 2 laner. Slowing down occasionally to pass through small towns averaging 700 people. The Mississippi for the most part was in sight and ...
