... waterfalls that straddle the international border between Canada and the United States; more specifically, between the province of Ontario and the state of New York. They form the southern end of the Niagara Gorge. The 3 falls are Bridal Veil, Horseshoe and American Falls. Only 50%25 of the river water that being allowed through (the rest being diverted to hydro electro power generation) and that was enough to wow us. People have done many things at Niagara ...

Scenic byways and a natural wonder

... through. We finally made it to Niagara Falls (the city itself is a little sad, and when the sign says welcome to Little Italy, it lied). We made it to the park, and lucky us, got free parking because we were coming so late in the day. I should have hopped on the last trolley down to the falls, but I wavered, and then my arms got too tired from the hike from the parking lot. For our next stop we'll know to have Lew drop me off as close as possible, and if available, always take the ...

After resituating ourselves in the truck like a dog that circles and settles into ...

Hmmm, now I'm adding entries days later... Well Niagara Falls itself is spectacular and the view from our hotel room was mesmerising. The town however, was like a small, dead Vegas. It was quite amazing to see the falls from the inside on the 'Journey behind the Falls' and even more amazing that a 7 yr old once survived being washed over the falls (he was wearing a life jacket ...

    ... stinky rest stops.

God was so good to us and gave us a perfect driving day - cool, bright and no rain during the drive. Only as we got to our camp site did some rain come down, but no big deal.

Here's a couple pictures of us as we're getting ready to leave.

Tomorrow we will tour the falls! Maid of the Mist here we come...
