    ... Grand Junction, CO. Then it is US-50 all the way to Dodge City, KS. It is a little over 900 miles.
    We found a beautiful Federal camp ground on a reservoir lake for the first night .

    ... Pass near Blanca Peak, just north of the highway reaching up to 14,345 ft. The pass was 10,800 ft. and we could touch the snow on either side of the highway.
