... still alive. I was a bit
disappointed with the controlled fire the government had done. I mean the trees
lived two thousand years naturally so why does the government need to mess with
them? They had killed several of them with their man made fires. We met a
couple on their honeymoon from London who we gave our SF city passes to. We had
a nice chat with them. We then drove to Fresno and on to pine flat lake where
we’re spending the night. Peace to my ***** ...
... for the night practice where my team mate coaches jiu jitsu. This was a pretty cool experience. I was going to participate in the practice, but I didn't really feel comfortable. Jiu Jitsu involves men laying between your legs at times and I this was a bit strange to me. I was very intrigued at how there are so many different fighting disciplines and how they have all evolved.
... don't want to come home!) It's a night in tonight as I am full of a cold. Only I could catch a cold on holiday. It must be bad as I really don't fancy any food at all. It is a good job though that hotels don't charge for tissues as I would have already ran up a huge bill. We've just the one night stay here then it's up in the morning for a 2 hour drive to Yosemite Park where the mountains ...
I was glad to have the GPS because I cut across California from Santa Cruz to Fresno just like I knew what I was doing. I stopped at Casa De Fruita and got some things for the Haley and Michigan people. It is a tradition to go to the Casa so we know where we are and when we will arrive!

... feet deep, and looking up the same distance or more at the monoliths that were reaching to the sky above our heads. The rock walls along the way were painted all colors of the spectrum, each more beautiful than the one before it. I have attached some pictures but it is impossible to do the grandeur justice either with words or pictures.
John's hands were sweaty several times but there were enough pull outs and enough rocks placed along MOST of the edges ...
