        We left Santa Barbara and headed north on Highway One. State Route 1 is a major north-south state highway that runs along most of the Pacific coastline of the U.S. state of California. It is Australia's answer to the Great Ocean Road and oh my, it sure does a great job to compete with our Aussie favourite.         ... a preacher. It was nice to hear all of this before my departure. I took pictures with many people. It was great to see the support of all my family, friends and people that were just interested in my flight.

        We then embarked on the 4 hour drive to San Francisco. We arrived in San Fran with just enough time to return the hire car (Heather you are a super hero) and then began the epic challenge of checking in. Why are the simplest things so difficult?
