... in hot Northern CA, where the trail had dropped down to as low as 2000 feet elevation. This trail has such extremes. Gotta be ready for it all. As I was hiking out of the wilderness, I met Malibu, the PCT hiker that Queen B was hiking with that got Rhabdomyolysis. He is back on the trail and pushing 40 miles days, back to back. Wow!! He was even limping. Dude was skinny too. I kinda gave him lecture. Couldn't help ...

Sunday, July 26, 2015. PCT day 98. Miles 1577-1597.4 I really enjoyed today. I slept in till 06:15 and only did 20 miles. I even took an hour lunch and nap and took many breaks too. I only have 9 miles until Etna, CA, where I plan to nero and resupply. As usual, I was the last one to leave camp. As I was packing my bag, Cosmic Bubbles and Dingo where passing by and came over to chitchat. Turns out they ...

The trail continued its Southwest trajectory today. Water was plentiful today, and the weather was nice, not hot at all, actually quite cool. Perfect hiking weather. I frog leaped today Wallaby, TooMuch, and LoneStar. Cuban B is way ahead by ...

... far north. The climb was slow and steady and shaded by the forest canopy most of the way. Along the way, Castle Crags where visible. The water sources were not too spread out. Eventually reaching 6000 feet, we are granted epic views of Mt. Shasta. I made it to my intended destination and water source near a ridge by 7:30 pm. I was expecting to find Cuban B here, but apparently he ...

Today we learned how to deliver a baby. As an EMT, I would usually be delivering the mother to the hospital, but sometimes that doesn't happen in time, and we need to do an emergency birth. We learned how to help the mom push it out, the stages of labor, how to stabilize the baby as it is coming out and how to cut the umbilical cord. We also learned about the multiple ...
