... back, I put on my French lesson (it's going very well, I can introduce myself, count to 100 kind of, and say what I want to eat), and powered through the day's meandering and windy ride. Unfortunately, 10 days off the bike and only a few rides back in London had dented my improving fitness and I was not prepared for how hard my return would be.
