... Now that was a real plus for my guy since he no longer had to get out of his sleeping bag to pee. Not fair in my opinion but I gotta give him this one. We found the humor in it. Once he had that removed, the healing process didn't go quite as quickly as we had hoped so we get to stay in Ukiah for another week.

Even though this is financially crippling for us, the people in this town ...

It can't get much better than this!

Bushay Campground, Lake Mendicino.......

138 sites......First day 3 campers and us. It almost seems like the twilight zone. We have never had a campground so empty in the summer months. Never got more than 6 campers the entire time we stayed... Very surprising and a little disturbing since the campground, showers and potties included, was the bomb diggity. It was a fun few days, relaxing, doing pretty much nothing.....

... the forest and passes some tourist traps . . . Err . . . I mean attractions. Around 1pm I was getting really cold and stopped for some coffee to warm up. They had warm homemade blackberry cobbler and I figured that would warm me up too. Just to be sure I did not get too warm I had them throw a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Cobbler and coffee for only $12. And here I thought hippies were so social-minded. I guess they have to pay ...

... your **** with sawdust and wood chips and compost it in their many vegetable and flower beds. They haven't had rain since June and sleep outside until Sept. It is lovely and serene and cleansing and they are some fantastic folks! They set me up with my very comfy van-bed and covers and great travel advice and were fantastic.

Tomorrow I head for San Francisco and home. Then I'll do a retrospective of my trip with new pics and mileage estimate.
