    ... life and the cows which never seem to care if they have any life left. Most of
    the farms along the way were drenched, looking more like marshes and ponds than
    anything resembling human food. We spotted 4-5 different waterfowl flying
    around, looking for a fishing spot where no lakes or rivers flow. It seems that
    the entire central US has become a water world. Tomorrow the cornhusker state
    and my first piece of natural history.

    ... have charming southern accents. Check these places out on line!!
    We had a nice evening meal together talking politics and enjoying the company of good friends. Everyone must ask Cal about the April fools prank the girls pulled on him the second night in the city. We finally spilled the beans.....but really had all three of the guys hooked.....Was a great "gotcha" moment to savour !

    ... my way to Abilene around 7 am. I stopped at a local coffee shop and had a nice breakfast about a mile from the Library. I arrived as the doors opened at the library. They accepted my Hoover membership for admission to Eisenhower as was promised. I was told that the first tour through the Eisenhower home was at 9:15.     We decided that we wanted to take a little hike today before leaving the Rockies and heading back east. We got up and had breakfast and then began to pack up. Camping has been fun, but I am glad that we are done with it.
