... to Salina, Kansas. That's about 7 hours. I took a nap. I also worked on a book of our trip. I played with things from my travel backpack-my sticker book, read a book by Bill Cosby. Gavin and I began our travels on June 21st, with our first stop in Keller, TX to visit my dear friend, Diane Harter. Just an overnight stop, but we were able to get quite a bit of conversation in, in one night! Drove 7 hours today and we are stopped in Salina, KS at a very comfortable Marriott Courtyard. We listened to an audio book, No Hero, The Evolution of a Navy Seal by Mark Owen. It is an account of Mark's 13 years as a Navy Seal. He was on the mission ...

the farms along the way were drenched, looking more like marshes and ponds than
anything resembling human food. We spotted 4-5 different waterfowl flying
around, looking for a fishing spot where no lakes or rivers flow. It seems that
the entire central US has become a water world. Tomorrow the cornhusker state
and my first piece of natural history.

... the 7th...hugs for our BC friends and then off with a loaded car Northbound into Mississippi which is so lush with a million shades of green. Trees are gigantic forming canopies over the roads...So pretty and springlike.
Into Arkansas with rolling hills, heavily forested and picturesque. Stayed in a town called Russellville on the edge of Lake Dardanelle. A lovely clean city with great amenities ...
