      ... was just setting down now in front of us and was at eye line, so was the best time to take a break. Arriving approx 5pm, had no problems getting a room and unloaded our luggage. Immediately the chauffeur had a well earned drink. Had to get out the essential provisions out first, for a chill out cocktail and peroni to settle us in. The owner takes us to our site by the river (which flooded in August- the water rose 32 ft!) His wife (the one who we spoke to earlier in the day) then comes by to deliver four wieners, buns, and a zippie bag of marshmallows for us to have with our campfire- Randy sure is a charmer.       ... of detours.

      The Aussie was with us but then we lost him, thinking that he had gone for fuel.

      We went to Wezzy's Roadhouse in Hamel for lunch which was interesting.

      We all had a fantastic ride today through the cornfields and sheltered tree lined roads. In fact, we were all a bit sad when we had to get onto the motorway to cover some of the inaccessible areas of Route 66.
