... it is near to the ferry which goes to Mackinac Island. We came across a lot of road works on the way here. We were about an hour and a half just doing around 40 miles. Got held up and drove slowly through the works. At least here when the Tarmac is laid it is smooth not like England where it is loose clippings for ages. ... at nchor and 20 at marinas. We burned a little over 200 gallons of diesel fuel giving us a mileage of just over 3 miles per gallon. We ate most of the food we brought with us but also sampled many local restaurants. And most importantly, after 34 days on a small boat all aboard still love each other.

Today we decided to cross to Mackinaw City. It was a combination of weather forecasts and timing to finish our cruise by Sunday in Hessel. We might stop back to the island on our way to Hessel. We thought we might cruise to an island on the Lake Michigan side of the bridge but it wasn't quite the nice day needed to launch the dinghy and hike ashore.
