    Fun day! LaureAnn and I drove over to Salem, Massachusetts for all things witchy! What a beautiful day. the drive was wonderful - lots of great conversation, story swapping, beautiful scenery, and then Salem itself.

    We walked around, visited a couple of the sites, one being the only structure left from the witch trial period. That is the home of Judge Corwin.

    Had a great room at the Holiday Inn Express. Great staff there too.

    Next morning I got up and walked down to Locust Grove. This had been the summer home of Samuel Morse. Later it was bought by the Young family, they added to the property and made arrangements for it to be protected and preserved. Lovely property, even in the rain.     ... now it is a barge pulled by a tugboat. Very interesting to watch the coming and going of the cars - three at a time. It is actually part of Rte 160. There was a continuous line of cars waiting to cross. Then it was off to dinner. It was nice to have a pretty relaxing day and we tried to watch the Royals game but only made it through the 6th inning - we are an hour later than home so that's our excuse.
