We continue on east and then just a little north to the city that shares it name with its sister city over the Canadian border, Sault Sainte Marie. Our plan was to see the Soo Locks and then take a quick day trip in the truck over the border.

The Soo Locks have been referred to as one of the great wonders of the world and are still the largest & one of the busiest waterway traffic systems on earth! Watching huge vessels pass through the Locks ...

We haven't seen anything white except ...

There is a sense of historical and commercial importance about Sault Ste Marie independent of Southern Ontario that I ...

The unloading went quickly and soon we were on the road, rainy and low clouds. The road itself was challenging, lots of curves and hills--Carol did not approve! At one point it stopped raining long enough to take a picture or two, but ...

We decided to gas up in Mackinac City and take a short break before crossing the bridge and making the final run for Sault Saint Marie. I took the opportunity to mount a new camera I had purchased (a Contour ROAM2) on a handlebar mount with the intention of filming the bridge crossing. We finished our break and headed for the bridge.
