Now that we have given back the three hours that we gained in the long journey across this great nation, we realize two things. First, just how far it is from one coast to the other. And second, just how good it is going to feel being home again.

This trip wound up taking just three and a half weeks. With an original plan of up to two months, it seems on paper, or on the computer actually, and in our minds..........to have taken a very long time ...

Wednesday April 16, One more zero day at Hemlock Hollow Inn. I was going to head out this morning, but the leg is still a little tender. Not too tender, but I am thinking it is better to allow my leg to fully recover - because it keeps costing me zero days! Thursday April 10, Woke up to an amazing sunrise at Max Patch! Windy as all heck, and trying to set up the Contrail with those high winds - sucked, I would get half the tent staked....the wind would yank it out, and it would try to fly away....in the end, I won the battle.....but the wind put up a hell of a fight! All the headache was worth seeing that sunrise tho! A quick 2 mile hike to the first shelter, then breakfast - and ...

... Twenty-five 4-H members, from clubs all around our area, are participating in a one-week, 4-H exchange trip to Rogersville, TN. This is my first time away from home. I don’t know anyone on the bus. I sit by myself, and don’t talk to anyone. I overhear others on the bus talking.

“Hey, maybe they will put me with a rich family in the city, and I’ll be able to live in ...

... since the Smokies are out. Hey Odie! We passed an Odie Hills Golf Course some where on this crazy Hiway. It's good to be on the road again. We are just at home in our tent and car. We truly enjoyed our visit with Darwin and Georgia, especially The Outer Banks, but leaving him with the Mom part of it was not a good feeling, but can't be helped. Love to all and to all a good-night. Traveller ...
