      Pontiac itself is a very nice small town with a lot to do within walking distance of the museum. There is a really nice old court house along with shops of every type everywhere. Marked on the sidewalk are steps that,when followed, allow you to collect charms.

      No more than 5 miles from the house and we had to turn back around. We got on the road by 7:30 AM. Today we planned to drive from Greenfield, IN to Omaha, NE but not though Pontiac, IL. We unknowingly took a slight, unnecessary, detour off the Westbound I-74 interstate. Update back ...

      ... 69! It's also much more scenic. Lots of hills and pastures, cows and horses, wildflowers and trees in bloom!

      Last night we stopped at the Welcome Center rest area just over the Missouri border. We pulled in at about 7 p.m. This is a really nice rest area that has a separate RV parking area with room for lots of RVs.

      Today we drove the rest of the way home.
