For the next hour, we walked around downtown and I swear, every last business we went into had the friendliest folks you could hope for. We spent most of our time in the Village Hall, where people were paying their water bills today, and joked around with a woman who works there, Sherry. We kept trying to get people to give their bill payments to J.P., but no one fell for it. ;) I mean, how else are we going to pay the show back ...
As far as we had known, Marseilles was going to be a lot & license town for us, but we received an email from the home office at 10am saying the sponsor had just sent info on our contact there and that he had a school visit for us! We called the contact quickly to make sure the timing of everything would work out and it did: he had a school visit scheduled at 1pm.
The parking was really tight at the school, so I parked a bit illegally, but we didn’t ...
Tripping south I passed through Odell. It was a quaint little village with a very religious feel about it with the massive church and school attached. Odell really is a blink and you will miss it town, that strangely had an underpass near the school to allow children to pass right under route 66 hahaha. Rolling into Pontiac like rolling ...
This trip we are bringing Carl and Amy since they are on spring break and Carl turns 21 this year.
Tonight we drove to the border of Missouri and Arkansas and pulled into a rest area.
We got going bright and early Saturday morning.
Parts of I-55 through Mississippi and most of it in Louisiana is pretty horrible. The motorhome bounced like a bucking bronco! We'll look for alternate routing on future trips this way.
... We'll have to get crawl under after we get to Chris' and see if maybe a wire is loose.
Exit 41 on I-55 has "600 Classic Cars!" We'll have to check that out one of these days.
