... also learn to open cabinets very slowly after driving - a few cups and other random things have already fallen on my head when not doing so. The worst incident though was when entering through the back door I had forgotten that the counter was set up in the entry way. I jumped up on the first step and Whack! hit my head right on the edge of the pop up counter. I thought for sure I busted my head open and would need stitches.....luckily ...

Driving day number 2! Today we logged 447 miles. Piece of cake. It was mostly an uneventful ride. Here are a few thoughts from today: Illinois- mostly flat rolling fields of corn.....for miles and miles.....The skyline dotted with wind turbines, manicured highways and the prettiest rest stops I've ever seen. We are in John Deere country! I thought Pennsylvania had large farms. Here your neighbors are miles apart. It puts new meaning in the ...

Suzie turned 40 and she wanted to go camping. We loaded up Bugout1 and hit the road. We picked Red Rock, Iowa's largest lake. We stayed at Whitebreast campsite which is on the southern tip of the lake. We reserved spot#76 which was the end of the road in this campground. Completely shaded and away from most others. Sunny and 72 was our Friday. Perfect weather. Starving once we arrived so we whipped up a couple of sandwiches and chips n dip. Cracked Peace Tree's growler of Soundcheck ...

... a Saturday night? Dirt track racing of course. We are always down for motorsports so we pack back in the jeep and headed to Knoxville raceway to watch the sprint cars do battle all night. It was good clean mid western fun. A good time was had by all.

Step Three. Drink 2 Beers and pass out! It has been a marathon up to this point!

P.S Colby is not right. We are beginning to watch him closely, but something is definitely off.

    ... home about midnight.

What a great adventure this has been. What a neat thing to be able to share with our grandson, Teague. His enthusiasm and good nature made us smile a lot.....not to mention is singing the Willie Nelson "On The Road Again" song every morning when we left our campground.
We feel lucky to have been able to do this.
