... fair was taking place. Al Gore, who lives in Nashville, was Vice President for two terms but now describes himself as a recovering politician! He was talking for over an hour on his new book about what he thinks are the six drivers for the future including technology, climate and what he calls the Global Inc. (corporations and their power on political systems and the environment) to name some of them. He was so passionate and animated when he spoke and the ...

... It is basically a museum for musicians that have been inducted into the Hall of Fame, and had some really good memorabilia. The highlights were Elvis Presley’s gold car, his gold piano and an enormous wall completely covered in gold and silver records. They also had a really interesting temporary exhibit on Patsy Cline, and a Carrie Underwood exhibit is opening in a few weeks.

    ****
It turns out that we did get a chance to see some of Nashville, at least. We took a little nap and that perked us up for dinner at Puckett's Grocery & Restaurant which was good, but the ambiance and the dessert made it well worth while. We heard a good folksy bad called Alan Thompson Band. The rain having stopped for more than five minutes, we decided to give ourselves a walking tour of downtown. ...

    First stop, Tennessee

... the I-24 toward Nashville was uneventful – which is a good thing when you are dragging a 12,000 lb. RV. Though we had traveled this route many times, our destination was somewhere we had never been – Cedars of Lebanon State Park. We got there in the late afternoon and got the last site for our size. For a state park it was not all that great of a campground, but at $20 a night it will have to do. I usually try a state park or some other ...
