... you can walk through, or see what it's like to sit on a race horse in the gate. After our visit to the museum, we had lunch in the Derby Cafe, a great southern buffet. Just out side the Cafe, in a separate barn and covered paddock, is the resident Thoroughbred, Twinspired, a flea-bitten, grey stallion, who ran in the 2011 Kentucky Derby and his paddock mate, Winston, the miniature horse, who has called Churchill Downs home for 19 years! The resident thoroughbred is switched ...

Today, Noel, Tony and I happened across this lovely historic town called MADISON on the OHIO River in Indiana..about 40 minutes from the Ohio River crossing at Louisville. ..
I fell in love with this town...streets and streets of historical homes and buildings. Blocks and Blocks of lovely churches, shops and buildings..I have to go back here again...

        Not a good day.....

... t in the backup described above. Altogether, a 5 hour drive took us 8 .5 hours.
Then, when we got to the hotel, we noticed that the ice chest was leaking water. Turns out the plug had not been put back in when we emptied out the water this morning. Had to practically unpack the van (not easy, since it was piled full of souvenirs) and put up the seat to dry it out.
Our worst day by far. But we are dry now, and full from a steak at Texas Roadhouse, so all is good again......

... webs- they're absolutely stunning. I'm not sure if the photos show them very well, but they were pretty cool, especially because they were covered in drops of dew. Reminded of the ginormous spiders in Texas, I'm very careful not to get tangled or see the master crafters of these webs. Before heading out, we risk getting lost in the corn maze. Knowing that I'm a bit of a human GPS, I figure it'll be easy enough to run through- wrong! This ...
