      Thanks to our friends Diane and Rick Cross, we've had a wonderful few days here at Texas Motor Speedway - the only downers were a couple of very cold nights and the fact that the trailers backed up to us left their huge and noisy generators running all night long, every night! But even that couldn't dampen the fun of time spent with good friends, enjoying good racing, and a win by "my" guy, Jimmie Johnson, #48!

      ... was pretty neat to go there. The short drive from Parker to our hotel in Fort Worth should have taken about 30 minutes...driving through Dallas is a NIGHTMARE! We got lost 4 separate times & managed to extend our short 'hop' to about 2 hours as we tried out all the different freeways, some in both directions! Finally made it to our hotel, popped to IHOP for dinner & now drinking a well earned ...

      ... the time they closed, anyway. Rats!! So Dan took pictures of the planes from outside the fence. He was happy to see the "Dorito," the only A-12 ever built. It was minus its wings (they were beside it), but it was obviously a very unusual-looking airplane.

      From here i had a look at a few shops including Wild bills western place – a place to get cowboy stuff, i got a shirt to wear tonight. From the shops i had a look around the general area then went to the Renascence tower – this is a building that has a big pyramid in front of it, done by the same guy who did the pyramid at the Louvre.
