... Ag airplane that was hauling loads of fertilizer to spread on nearby fields. That is one cool turbine powered airplane.
So I ended up hiking into town (turned into an exhausting hike) to get some food and adult beverage. Couldn't find a decent place to stay, so hiked back to the airport and slept with the plane on the ramp!
The morning Wx radar showed a nasty looking system rolling at us from the direction I was headed. I fueled ...
... paneer, jeera rice and raita. After a sumptuous lunch we started to drive again and our next stop was coffee in Lincoln, NE. then we drove straight to ames and had delicious dinner made and kept by Supraja for us. so we reached home and all in all we drove 5858miles :-)
Bon Voyage with Friends
We had a great farewell party with wonderful friends -- that we will miss!

Traveled to Beatrice today to speak at the Kiwanis luncheon at Valentino's. Great group of people, and we see eye-to-eye on the issues.
Enjoyed an interview afterwards with KWBE, and really liked the format that they post on their website. They mix short audio clips with text paragraphs to "tell the story" in a multi-media way. Very interesting, and appreciate the coverage!
It was great to pop in on a few other business offices as well.
We topped it off with a stop at the Homestead Monument outside of Beatrice. I love the Nebraska history that pervades the campaign trail throughout this great state. Next time I catch myself taking modern-day conveniences, including cars and indoor plumbing, for granted, I'll think about those tough pioneers crossing the prairie in their covered wagons.
A little perspective is a great thing!
