Saturday was Rod’s annual Umstead Ruins Hike in William B. Umstead State Park. We started from the Reedy Creek entrance and Rod gave us a little history of the park before we set off on Company Mill Trail. Trying to keep up with what street (they were not organized well in the brochure) and house numbers got the best of me. We also drove through the cemetery and saw some of the ornate tombstones and some of the Confederate area. Both Cherie and I ...

    A long day's journey.

The flight from Denver to Cary again was bumpy on take off and landing. I was moving from cloud system to cloud system. I didn't get a window seat this time. But was thankful for an aisle seat with no one in the middle seat. I could not see much out the window. I was also falling asleep. I woke myself up mid snore, or just whatever woke me, but I must have got some sleep.
I didn't get to see the Mississippi or other landmarks. I was greatly looking forward to ...
