    ... rivers that have had such an influence on US writing and culture. [Guess which one of us wrote that para?! ]

    Visibility was improving the further east we flew, the Kaskaskia River, with its many oxbow lakes (we love oxbow lakes!), Rend Lake before crossing the Wabash River as it ran into the Ohio River, the border between Ohio and Indiana. We cannot fail to mention the town of Objectionable, out on our left as we approached our destination.

    Mostly a travel day today ending in Owensboro, KY Lots of time in the car but with good company.... And an onboard DVD player the drive was a pleasant one. Tomorrow we get deeper into the South and our days get busier for awhile. Stay tuned for our update after we visit the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Johnny Cash museum and the Stones River National Battlefield.

    Henderson is your cute, quintessential small town. While they host this wonderful free music festival every year, it appears that the town is more concerned with sticking to their morals and routine than making much money. When I went to find a cup of coffee in the little downtown, the only coffee shop was closed on weekends...even on a weekend that brings in 15,000 people. And ...
