... to a Hy-Vee to restock. What a weird name for a grocery store. I guess it's not as bad as the Texas chain HEB, which stands for Harry E Butts. Two guys wanted to give me advice on changing my route. This doesn't instill confidence in the next 50+ miles I need to do today. I decided to stay on route. Made it to Knoxville, which was an unbelievable drive on the motorways...minus 40 degrees outside, which I think is about 23 below zero New Zealand speak! Matts moms house is surrounded by snow and it is bitterly cold outside.....really really cold!!! Tonya stayed with the kids ...

Now their cheapest room was less than what we paid for hostels we have stayed in and we shared a king ...

We took off around 11:30am for Carthage, IL and drove through cornfields for an hour...I definitely prefer that to the outskirts of Chicago!

... one of the best lunches we’ve had this season yet.

I forgot the name of it, but it’s a restaurant below a furniture store downtown (all owned by the same folks) and they specialize in the best comfort food you could ever want to eat. I got the Hungarian Goulash in a bread bowl and I was THRILLED to see Liptauer (a Hungarian cheese spread that I fell in love with when I worked at ...
