... post was sort of rounded on top so my feet finally told me it was time to stop standing and start walking. M...and since I'm all of 5'4"......I didn't see much parade after that.

It wasn't tough to determine where the best cherry blossoms were to see....just look for the largest crowds. I walked across the mall near the Smithsonian and then down ...

This morning we had a tour booked for the US Capitol Building which is the US equivalent to our Parliament. The US Senate and the House of Representatives meet at the Capitol to introduce legislation, debate issues and vote on bills. The US Capital is located at the eastern end of the National Mall and it took us almost an hour to walk there. The building has been built progressively since 1793, including a rebuild after the British torched it in 1814. The original design ...

... the afternoon. We chose to go to the Air and Space museum (which like all most museums in Washington was free to enter). Here we saw and learnt lots about the history of flight, aviation and space exploration. Some highlights were the Wright Brothers exhibit with the original Wright Flyer, and the actual Apollo 11 landing capsule which astronauts Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins returned to earth in after their successful moon landing expedition. It was pretty amazing to be able ...
