Rounding the corner we viewed the First Division Memorial before arriving to the rear of the White House. With the cold weather and obvious snow bitten lawns and trees, the building has seen better viewing days. With a quick picture and Hayley stepping her foot through the fence to say she had walked on the White House lawn we headed towards the White House visitors centre. In its temporary location, we watch a short film ...

Took a bus home. It was very crowded, and when the man in the wheelchair got on, it was even worse. Disabled people are very well catered for here in the US. A whole section of the bus is used, the driver gets out and helps and no-one complains. It takes ages to board them. This man only went a couple of stops.
Minus 4 when we got home. My two warm tops are becoming a bit tatty after being worn every other day for 8 ...

We visited a farm gate shop, specialising in soft pretzels - yummy, along with lots of preserves, jams, cooking as well as finished sewing articles.
Then on to another farm shop, this time specialising in quilts, quillows and other goodies. Margaret purchased an Amish cook book, so we can all look forward to some good old fashioned home ...

On our way again. Were in 6 states today. Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, NY State, Pennsylvania and Connecticut. Drove through Annapolis, the capital of Maryland. Drove on the I95 highway through Queens and The Bronx, avoiding the drive through New York city. Paid lots of tolls along our way, think a total ...
