... than impressed with the zoo. In retrospect perhaps the Air and Space may have been a better choice for our first stop in the DC area. Let's face it, the Mentus children have a NEED FOR SPEED!! The zoo? Clearly not adventurous enough. Well, unless you count all of the things that Connor felt the need to scale and climb throughout our visit. The carousel ride was a lot of fun and the only thing we had to pay for at the zoo. ... political brawl between the parties was on. Finally, they were able to reach an agreement: the Democrats were willing to allow Rutherford Hayes to accept presidency. In return, Samuel Tilden demanded his railroad, and the other Democrats required the military zones broken up and for federal troops to leave. The Republicans agreed to what is today known as the Bargain of ...

The statue of Abraham Lincoln sits proudly on a chair, looking out across towards the Memorial and the US Capitol Building in the distance. We have a brief look around the museum next door, which features a film which proud Americans may call 'patriotism', but I'd call 'propaganda'. What is clear is that Lincoln was a remarkable man who was ...
