Today is the second to the last day of our trip. I will drive from Williams, AZ to Barstow, CA on I-40. About the only reason to leave the interstate today is to buy gas and eat lunch.

Hoover Dam
Drove from Vegas (late as usual) to the Hoover Dam about 26 miles away. We drove across the Dam after going through security as its the 6th biggest terrorist target in the US. After parking up in the RV car park we walked to the Tours office in 126f heat !!!!! It was windy and felt like a hairdryer !!!! Tour was great and explained what happened …
Kitchen

There is obviously a kitch competition because rhe rest of the stores are just as gaudy.There is the Roadkill Cafe,Westside Lilo's,where you can get any Route 66 souvenir you could want and a room that you to be a barbershop;the walls are covered I old newspapers.And finally,ap store that has an old Caddy and mannequins aplenty,a natural photo stop.In fact, many tour buses were there when I was.

Night 21: 50 Degrees
... this wine-themed activity was the old Californio town of Paso Robles. We stopped here for much cheaper gas and moved on through more vineyards and up the next, much taller mountain range. As we descended a patchwork of farms and the glint of rooftops appeared. We were in the San Joaquin Valley and it was about 100 degrees, a difference of 41 points. The valley is fed by the California Aquaduct and enjoys quite a rain shadow. I will try golfing for the first time recipe. ...

... der Hitze - wir sind hier in der Mojavewüste mit einem Jahresmittel von 38°C - vor, den Pool des Campingplatzes zu besuchen und noch ein wenig in der Sonne zu relaxen. Da wir morgen eine sehr lange Fahrt haben werden, klingt der heutige Abend auch nicht ganz so lange aus wie die Abende zuvor. Gute sechs Stunden Fahrt nach Nordwesten zum Yosemite Nationalpark müssen schließlich bewältigt werden.
Wir melden uns vermutlich von dort aus wieder!
