We didn't plan to stay here, but we were stranded in Charlotte for 2 nights because of canceled flights. US Airways recommended this Holiday Inn Express so we called them for a pick-up. It was freezing out and it took 20 minutes for a van to come for us. Finally someone showed up and we settled in to this motel. We had to order meals from a couple pizza places because there was no restaurants within walking distance. But they had a nice buffet style breakfast that was included with a lot of food choices, and they had coffee available all day. It was a well maintained, clean and lots of TV channels, free internet so it worked out for us! I worked on editing my travel photos, it usually takes me weeks. Shuttled us back to the airport at 5 am this morning by a good natured young gal, and we made it home, so all is well! Even our luggage was waiting for us at our home airport!

After a drive of a few hours, we arrived at our motel in the small town of...Hurricane! Thankfully we didn't encounter any severe weather, and I thought of those who must have been affected by the flooding from Hurricane Joaquin. (There is also a place called Tornado somewhere in W. Virginia!)

I have decided to get a T Shirt made that says, "Yes, we know you would love to come to Australia". Seriously, it is great to hear though and we tell them that they would feel very much at home. We have met some lovely people here. We often get the comment, Where about in Texas are you from? I always answer much further south. Much much further. It is one of the best things about travelling – meeting lots of people.
More to come later but I was shocked at the raw kale the kids harvested from Julie's garden garden and ate tonight! Of course they asked for some butter on it so that may be why but they are the whole thing! We're having an awesome time at the Murphy's! I'll update more soon about our ...
