We didn't plan to stay here, but we were stranded in Charlotte for 2 nights because of canceled flights. US Airways recommended this Holiday Inn Express so we called them for a pick-up. It was freezing out and it took 20 minutes for a van to come for us. Finally someone showed up and we settled in to this motel. We had to order meals from a couple pizza places because there was no restaurants within walking distance. But they had a nice buffet style breakfast that was included with a lot of food choices, and they had coffee available all day. It was a well maintained, clean and lots of TV channels, free internet so it worked out for us! I worked on editing my travel photos, it usually takes me weeks. Shuttled us back to the airport at 5 am this morning by a good natured young gal, and we made it home, so all is well! Even our luggage was waiting for us at our home airport!

What did I say about always checking the flight monitors when we arrive at an airport, BEFORE, we make our way to the next gate? I walked right by them and didn't stop! So by the time we walked the same very long distance, same as when we arrived the first time, the flight had already been canceled and the e-mail came at 1pm, so the flight was …

Now I am being hit with the excitement and the fact that this is actually happening. Costa Rica here I come!
... one thing I've learned from these two hours of schedule changes, it's that being kind and understanding to airline booking agents about flight changes can get you a long way!! I finally received my tickets and had a great dinner with Logan at a restaurant in the airport before heading to my flight. Saying goodbye is always hard, especially traveling alone, but I am starting to think that meeting and getting to know people is going to be a fun ...

We went to breakfast with Zach (I got to ride shotgun in Roxy, and got to witness Southern friendliness firsthand), where we all over-ordered and basically died from our food consumption. Visited Whole Foods. Took a trip down the halls of PDS (far too nice), and then hung out at his house. We went to a Charlotte Knights game with his mom (his dad wasn't feeling well), which was super fun. Then we got dinner at a place with great biscuits, and just hung out some ...
