Today's the day I leave for New York. It's all here, finally. I felt like it would be a great time to update the blog.
I have been so overwhelmed with love these past few weeks. I am so grateful to be surrounded by such supportive, uplifting, loving people. I feel so blessed. ... and at home just six months ago. I'm looking forward to soaking up as much as I can about the conflict and spreading words about peace, tolerance and unity. I hope that keeping this blog before I go will ease my tensions. I feel relieved even as I'm writing this.

... and Geraniums hanging from attractive light poles and in front of many shops, and even larger ceramic pots of mixed plantings dot the street. Now several of the cafés have outdoor seating and the street has benches at intervals. As before, there are a large number of antique and gift shops some of which are only open 4 days pw but the little town appears to be thriving and we find a few little treasures in one such large shop.

Detroit is A LOT safer than its rep (with caution).
Detroit is VERY interesting, yah got to see it and poke it to believe it.
Detroit is FUN!
Detroit will recover, not as grand, not as rich in a financial sense, but still rich.

When we were finally allowed to drive away, I began joking that he thought we were drug dealers because I don't think he could really figure us out. I found this particularly amusing because the night before I had a dream that Chad was trafficking some white drug, and I was worried he was going to get caught and lose his pharmaceutical license.
