      ... we got back to Lake Charles, I took those 17 shrimp and cleaned them all—breaking off the heads, peeling off the shell and tail, and deveining them. Randy told me how to make a broth/stock from the shrimp shells and heads, so I washed the shells and heads and set them to boil. I then rinsed the shrimp meat and prepared to cook it.       ... new steps more quickly. I even danced this complicated line dance—the trickiest I’ve ever done. And Gabi did really awesome for his first time dancing zydeco! We also danced his first waltz, which he took in stride, too (ok, bad pun). We happily danced every song until the night ended at around midnight. We took a selfie with Randy’s 75 year old friend—his first ever selfie, he said!

      ... saw live crabs in there, and saw the boiling pots and seasoning in the back of the restaurant where they make crawfish boils, crab boils, etc. Cool!

      After that we bought Randy some Duck Dynasty PJ’s, which he adores, enjoyed yummy pralines (pecan candy), and watched the movie, Ray. It was a great movie, and the performance of the actress who played young Ray’s mother made me cry several times.

      ... stopped at the Louisiana border, I was talking to the ladies when they told me that I10 was stopped in both directions at mm50 because of an overturned truck in the median with suspected toxic chemicals. So I immediately made reservations in Lake Charles and headed there for the night. Traffic is being rerouted, but I was too tired to deal with it today. I'll sleep well and get an early start tomorrow, maybe they will get it figured out before ...
