... somewhat confusing

  • oven propane that does not work
  • no shower head in shower

  • Here are some nice things that made everything okay:

    • dry-docking in a WalMart parking lot for the night when we were in a jam
    • awesome friendly neighbor campers from Portland who showed Scott how to do some mechanical ...

    ... for Dr. George Stockman which was built in 1908. So off to Mason City we went.

    Driving though town we also saw that there was a Music Man Square which is a tribute to Meredith Wilson who wrote the Music Man and The Unsinkable Molly Brown. The Music Man was a tribute to the town of Mason City where he was raised. Unfortunately the museum is not open on Mondays ...

    ... the Pacific from 1942-1945. When they scrapped "Old Nameless" in 1962, Sioux Falls couldn't get the whole battleship into landlocked South Dakota. So they salvaged what parts they could, poured a foot-high concrete outline onto the ground in Sherman Park along the banks of the Big Sioux River, and combined the pieces into a minimalist pseudo-replica.

    The anchor, the ship's bell, a massive propeller, and other components are placed around the park ...

    ... the dog on the motorbike we left it at the shop with the motorhome and we are pretty much stranded here. If this goes on much longer we might take a cab around town but for now I just want to resume our westward voyage.

    The part is supposed to be in tomorrow morning anyways and as long as all goes well we will be back on the road by late afternoon.
