... the area south of Stowe and found the Von Trapp family lodge from where they moved to the USA from Austria. The hills were alive with the sound of our hire car struggling up the steep, bendy road that led to the lodge, which is now being used as a ski resort lodge. The hot dog was about to win when a magic princess walked out and enchanted him, allowing the ketchup to win.

I forgot to mention that the game was "Princess Night". Every girl who came dressed as a princess got in free, and there were plenty of princesses.

Mallett's Bay is located on the 40 mile Island Line Trail. We biked about 12 miles of this beautiful, well maintained trail that includes waterfront and parks which connects Burlington to South Hero Island. A large portion of this trail is a former Rutland Railroad railbed (stopped running in the 1960s) which includes a very long causeway across Malletts Bay.
