... and had come to the fiesta for the third year in a row. We talked about the joy of thunder and lightning, finding the best coffee in the world (81301 in Durango), about roadtrips and about driving the coast road through the Redwoods of California. And I gave them them updates from Twitter as they came through. And eventually, good news - at the pilot's briefing they had declared a green flag and the balloons were free to launch at will. Suddenly, ...

We awoke to another fine morning in San Diego overcome with excitement. The time had come to make for the famous City of Sin, Las Vegas. A land littered with billboards advertising brothels, a land of numerous casinos, a land of impromptu marriage and Elvis impersonators and perhaps more importantly, a land of late night beer. After returning to the camper I got the sad news that my brother in law had passed away. Cheryl we are all so very sorry for your loss. We will see what arrangements can be made ...

... road we started out wind free and then it started blowing and they were calling for high winds in the area. I don't know what I had expected this area to be, but I definitely didn't think we were going to be in a valley/high desert. I actually got to see the "tumbling tumbleweed". This is Navajo land and it definitely reflects it. Lots of signboards advertising jewelry, rugs, rocks, etc. The dust was kicking up like crazy and ...
