Yet another set of quiet days. We headed in the right direction to skip construction traffic. Also, after some looking we managed to find a spot to stop for Southern Food (family here always goes for chains, this time I wanted to actually have some so we stopped BEFORE hand). Mary's Southern Kitchen, I think was the name. Very good, and very happy we stopped, also managed to get a lunch for the next day out of it (thanks to the amount of food).

... Shore Beach and headed down to Orange Beach. As we settled down on the white sands a huge storm suddenly appeared on the horizon and within minutes we were engulfed in torrential rain which was as warm as a bath. It has been great visiting Alabama which is very much a less well trodden tourist state but nonetheless lovely. Next stop ...

... property was beautiful and expansive. I took a picture of the motor home through the trees near the welcome center building and thought it looked pretty cool.

I walked toward the welcome center and noticed a sign that read "NO PETS WITHIN 100 FEET OF BUILDING." That is weird. I have never seen a sign like that before. Maybe they don’t allow pets in the building, but within 100 feet? I guess people are welcome, but pets aren’t.

... out into a long stretch of tall trees for some more miles. We stopped for a comfort break at 8.50 am until 9.20 am. How you need to take all these breaks and for long periods I will never know. I get the feeling they are trying to pad out the trip. I would rather get to the destination to enjoy it. We only have 15 minutes before we arrive at the National Naval Aviation Museum. Anyway we crossed into Florida and we took a picture in front of the sign and the truck stop ...
