... Guggenheim Museum, Museum of Art, Central Park Zoo, Central Park.
Half way through we get off at Macy's Department store which is the biggest in the US and has 11 floors of everything. The top 3 floors have the original old wooden escalators running. They look very strange in wood. Low sided and slow with wooden slatted steps. We get back on the bus and head back into the city. We get back at 7 pm and the city comes alive again with Saturday night revelers. ...

... Back in the city we walked passed Wall Street to the 9/11 memorial pools which stand on the exact sites of the twin towers and are the largest manmade waterfalls in the world. Their positioning opposite the new World Trade Center is poignant, all the names of those who died both in the towers and on the planes inscribed around the edges. It is a very sobering place but well worth visiting to honour those who lost their lives.

... We went right over the place that capt Sully put his plane down in the river and where the passengers were rescued to. On our trip we were also able to witness today's New York drama and that was some window washers on the world trade centre had their platform give way. They were rescued and we could clearly see the dangling platform! Never a dull day!
