    ... on the back roads we headed to Milwaukee to visit the Harley Davidson Museum.

    My favorite was the WWII cycle with side car and dual machine gun holders. I could really use this when cruising thru some New York City neighborhoods.

    We then headed west through Madison Wisconsin and south into Iowa.

    Day 18 Chicago Il, Mason City Iowa.

    ... Iowa. Literally every truck on the planet was here. It's vast inside also. Sleep on the bus was impossible as they keep opening the side of the bus and hoisting wheelchair passenger and luggage in and out. Oh, and every nutbar not presently incarcerated in the world was on the bus. We changed buses at Des Moines Iowa at 5am for the last couple of hours leg to Mason City. Arrived 8ish. Raining. ...

    ... a local restaurant for a sandwich. Cliff thought he was getting the ramen I packed in my suitcase! Sat with a very nice couple from Texas and shared plans of our adventure.

    This is a 26 foot brand new motorhome. It is very nice. We put some of our clothes away, and tried to figure out all the buttons.

    Ready to call it a day.

    Kids got to drive 1952 locomotive by themselves!

    ... locomotive. There would just be too many rules, restrictions and costs associated with insurance etc., in most places. We were very thankful to have had this opportunity of a lifetime and one of the best adventures we have had on this trip.

    The real pleasure was the good folks one meets at a gathering like this. Harold and his wife from Omaha, Neb. a retired state trooper who was friendly to everyone he met.
