Nita had a conference call this morning and was concerned the call would be dropped so we left around 10:45 with eta of 4:05. There was a lot of traffic but it flowed very well so we managed to shave off 1/2 hour again and arrived at 3:35. Nita worked all the time while I listened to some music and cursed the other drivers ;-)

Finally we cross the state line and enter California. We stop off to visit Lake Tahoe. Its ever so nice. Pristine emerald and blue water surrounded by pine trees. What a beautiful place.
These mountain roads are something else, with scenery that is just breathtaking. We dont get into Redding till after 7pm, and find this really nice RV park off the highway and out of town. Doesnt take long to set up the tent, while Gerry is already set up with her camper van.
Not our usual Monday morning!...Sam trying to eject Lois from her bed and rush to the bus stop! Our morning started with a nice breakfast and then heading off towards the coast. Today is the day to discover Red Bluff. The town is charming with Victorian style buildings and town square, a bell tower, and many preserved buildings such as the State Theater, the IOOF building, brick churches with tall spires, and a well preserved downtown. ...
... were treated to a manager's wine and cheese reception. A nice surprise! The bus would take us to the Hometown Buffet for dinner. There was certainly food aplenty and this time we made it a point not to overeat. We sat with a fun group of folks---June, George and Susan and others.
