Great value for money, slightly dated, but suited our needs as a couple with two children. Just out of town, so a car is needed but a beautiful tranquil setting - Recommend

It is almost here! I cannot believe in just 36 hours I will be on a plane heading towards India!

          Campground $30
          Gas $2.39

Very scenic drive through New York State, heading toward the Adirondacks - the trees are very green but with some fall colours just starting. The campsite is rustic and very quiet, not too busy.

Highlights: Downtown Corning, beautiful town with old buildings and pretty parks

Rest stops are labelled "Text Stops" - very clever!

Started out slow this AM forgot to charge the camera battery in preparation for my visit to the HALL. Well, achieved that and we were on our way with Lin driving as we did not really know where to park or how easy things were or whether she would return to the campground.
As it turned out we parked and Lin and the dogs went into Town and hung around to await my return. We met at 1:00 for lunch and then they went to a park by the lake and I returned to complete my ...

... super nice. We went to the Turning Stone Casino for dinner at the Upstate Tavern. After we parked, we went in to the casino and there in front of us was a huge blown glass art piece. We wondered if it was a Chihuly. Will went over the information plaque and said, "Yup, eye patch guy!" So, yes it is a Chihuly.

The hat crew was sitting across the table from Julia and me. Everyone was wearing their ...
