Hi everyone We passed a teeny town called Earth, Texas and isn't it appropriate as we make our way back to Virginia. Tomorrow we leave for Hugo ...

Hopefully the next entry I make will be from Alberquerque, NM.

    Love,

The most significant thing about this entry is that I’ve made it more than half-way across the good 'ole USA and what better place is there to celebrate than Quanah TX.

Greetings from Quanah Texas, population 3022. Organized in 1884 as a stop on the Fort Worth and Denver Railway, Quanah was named after Quanah Parker, the last Comanche chief.

Famous residents have included Bill Evans, awarded both the Bronze ...

... in Childress. We had salads and chicken fried steak (me) and brisket and baked potato (Dad). The food was excellent and the check, including tax and tip, was $26. We couldn't find anything on TV so we watched Mad Men on our portable DVD player.Yes, it was a pretty boring day, as the first day always is. But that's the price you pay for a motor trip and we both love them!
