... temp was 99! It's now 101 as I write this and the wind is blowing across this crazy odd landscape at high speed. Dinner, I think, will consist of leftovers.....it's too darn hot to cook! ... in Childress. We had salads and chicken fried steak (me) and brisket and baked potato (Dad). The food was excellent and the check, including tax and tip, was $26. We couldn't find anything on TV so we watched Mad Men on our portable DVD player.Yes, it was a pretty boring day, as the first day always is. Yup we're back at the Cotton Gin RV park. It makes a nice place to stay for the night. Today was the most comfortable travel through Texas we've ever had at this time of year. Cloudy and the high temp was 75. We didn't even need AC today. Now we are sitting in Goodlett TX with the windows open watching a few gray clouds move around.
