... and their historical society has done a wonderful job of marking sites, but I find it loud and busy for a small town. The park area we are in however is very peaceful.... all we here are ducks and blue jays. We will move on to Lock # 5 in a day or so where we are told we can dock overnight in a pretty park, and then on to Mechanicville at Lock #3. ...

We had planned to stay the night outside the lock and only pay to enter the system tomorrow, but we didn't see where we were supposed to go. We pulled ...

... out very differently....as ir had once before. We then drove up to get Otto's van, back down to load his and Milo's boats, and then off for a dinner in town. After dinner, Otto headed to Stewart's for ice cream for Milo - but got lost - while I went to Stewart's for gas and ended up meeting them there. I only got gas.

It was a lovely way for the last paddling excursion of the season - sadly only my second!

The next stop was an overnight in ILL. and the next morning we drove to Nappanee. We arrived to find that the factory was closed for a week for vacation. We secured a spot in a nearby campground only to be subject to a week of rain. The campground was under water with ...

... black flies that cause quite a stir on the raft as people smacked each other in attempts to kill the miniature beasts. Well we survived the rafting trip and headed out to our next destination of Vacation Village in the Berkshires, a timeshare just outside of Albany across the MA border. We arrived safetly and checked in to our hotsy totsy new accommodations complete with a bed and TV's. Looking forward to what our new location can provide entertainment wise, we retire for the night.
