Oscars - named for the movie awards - is directly off the exit next to a huge truck stop/convenience store. I'd recommend it over any of the chain restaurants around. I'm sure they are okay if you like them. We just don't see the point in eating at the "same old" places when there are so many new local restaurants to try.

Edit: We have headed towards a hotel back in Hays, KS due to tornado warnings and watches. Here's some things that made our trip easier:
Solar panels, large inverter and battery capacity all combined to make us self-sufficient and allowed us to boondock (no hookups) so we only went to a campground every five days or so.
TomTom GPS - this was one of the most valuable tools of our trip. It guided us from beginning to end and never let us down.
