Day Two of the trip but Day One w/ air conditioning! Thank you, Butch!, the best damn RV mechanic we've ever known. Travelled through VA, West-By-God VA, Maryland and into PA. Stopped for night at an RV park in Jonestown, (near Hershey). Decided to have one EOV for each state we passed through. Working on that right now. Hope there's enough wine. Rig runs beautifully but goes through diesel fuel like a drunken sailor. Getting less than 8 mpg now, but I guess when you factor in ...

I decided to take a small break and stay in town that night, so I grabbed a pizza for lunch from a local place and carried it to a resort that had a good hiker rate for a room. Sadly, I didn't have anyone to split the cost with, but it wasn't too bad and I was really feeling like a room for the night. The resort turned out to be really cool, with ...

Day Totals: 14 hrs, 30 kms

The world is enshrouded in fog as I launch out on a new segment of my Superhike, following Holly Pike south of Carlisle. Today I'm going to finally reconnect with the Appalachian Trail after many days of straying away from it. it's about 11 kilometers out of my way--but there's a new town to explore along the way, so I figure it's worth it. It's been a long time since I've explored a new town.

Walking along the busy highway, I ...
