... part was seeing close up how some trees clung to the cliff edge with roots protruding out of the cliff wall. After that we crossed the Capilano Suspension bridge which typically (for suspension bridge) had a lot of sway. It is the longest suspension bridge in North America. ... off the face of the glacier. Even Amethyst got to go on the hike and thus visit her second glacier up close (her first was in Norway in 2001). For lunch we met uncle Jon and aunt Mary for a salmon bake, where everyone else ate wild Alaskan salmon (apparently quite good) and I ate cheesy potatoes.
