... I wanted to get back in. The two groups were making their way back to the boat and I was trying to decide on whether or not I wanted to endure that cold again. Of course I did! Before the third group got back on the boat, I hopped back in. It wasn't as bad this time, I guess because I knew what to expect. I swam around for about 5 minutes and then came back. No one else would get in with me. Chickens! Their loss. I dried off as we drove toward Stockton ...

... was pretty cold. I hurried up and cleaned myself because there was not enough water to waste on a nice long shower. Then I went back to the camp site and told Mirza to get up so we could go exploring.

The first stop was a coffee shop called Mission Hill at La Pointe (the main area on the island). We ordered breakfast sandwiches and coffee. They had a gift shop and I found the COOLEST mug! It was handmade here in Wisconsin. We sat and enjoyed our breakfast and took ...

It worked out really well :) By the time we were done, ...

... feet tall. We ate our lunch and rested in the park for a short while and decided to head back. We decided to take a different route back to the terminal were glad we did. We got to see a lot more of the island… well worth the extra mile back. The round trip was about 15.5 miles… I say about because I forgot to restart MapMyRide and Suzy’s bike computer was on the fritz. We found a nice little ice ...

... Islands are now forested with no inhabitants except for 1, but come with a rich history of survivalists who tried to live thru the grueling 4-5 winter months. Several islands have sandy beaches at 250-500' high where the water level once was millions of years ago. The colorful caves make us wonder about their past. Town of Bayfield reminds us of Port Townsend, WA....fun quirky shops and eateries on the water's ...
