... a big thing here. And, given that it was a David and Goliath affair between a US with ten times the Canadian population (and about that many more soldiers), the fact that the Brits and the Canadian Militia and their First Nations allies managed to force them out of Canada - well, the Canadians regard it as a modest win ... the Yanks? Still whining about how it wasn't fair and they were cheated, or had bad generals, or whatever ... poor losers, of course!

... now for those of you who have not been here, main streets here are filled 24/7 with cars, trucks, buses, crazy drivers and most of all, wall-to-wall taxi cabs. There wasn't anyone, no people, no cars and certainly no cabs - so what are we to do - go back to the apartment and give up? Nope, we decided to walk the 20 blocks, Bill thought it would take us about 30 minutes so we should get there in time to be picked up. Sounds like a good plan doesn't it? ...

... vodkas. Eventually getting our things together, wandered down to check out the free breakfast…not so exciting; then went to do the white water walk conveniently located about 2 minutes’ walk from the hostel. After heading back to Dad’s diner for lunch we had a rather quiet afternoon.

We found a wonderful little restaurant for dinner and a drink before heading back to the station for our overnight bus. ...

... appearance so off we went again. Yuck! We drove back down the street about mile to (what else it appears on this particular trip?) the Niagara Falls KOA. This park is the most expensive one we have stayed in on this trip which stings just a little bit but: 1) good electric, 2) level, 3) PAVED SITE!!, 4) Patio, and last but not least 5) Very good FREE wifi! It was a marriage made in heaven I am sure! All we had to do was pull in, plug in, tie on to ...

... head off to see the industry that hangs off this experience on the Canadian side of the border.  As Tara says, it is a bit like Brisbane's side show alley on steroids.  Crass casinos, fast food joints, cheesy tourist attractions, all set up, so it seems to us, to get your kids that you have bought on this trip (don't know why) to spend your money.  They didn't manage to open our wallets, so we headed off to a restaurant for some relaxing ...
