5th September - Tiger Hill Garden, Lingering Garden, Grand Canal Cruise, Master off the Nets Garden Breakfast was proving to be a non-event until we phoned Billy and handed the phone over to the young bloke on the desk. Our Chinese friends took us to a rock music club to celebrate our last night.

It was really empty when we got there at 7:30, but after about half an hour it was packed.

The band went on at 9:30 and the singer joked about never performing for this many foreigners.

... to visit but I had yet to, so we included it on our trip as a place that would be new for both of us. We spent most of our time Saturday finding and getting settled into our hostel and securing train tickets to our next destination a few days later. Tammy wouldn’t normally stay in hostels, but she was willing to try during this trip as I explained that they are fun places in China, and unlike hotels, the staff in hostels always speak English. This hostel in Suzhou wasn’t ...
