... couldn't imagine never seeing my host family again! Saying bye was the hardest thing about this trip, the amount of times we said bye and gave each other hugs were un-countable! ... They drive on the left hand side of the road and, like the USA, a right-hand turn is permitted on a red light if it is safe to do so. The safety aspect doesn't seem to come into the equation, as we watch our drivers negotiate round cars and bikes that seem to turn when it suits them. The narrow alley-ways mean you drive on the side of the road that is easiest for you to travel along. U-turns seem to be permitted if, and when, the other drivers will let you do so.
